A Marketing Plan is a document which form part of a business plan. It is used in their business planning process. It is one of the important documents of the entire business plan.
The depth of a Marketing plan include conducting assessment in four categories of the business information. In order to aid the assessment, a Marketing Plan Template is used. The template include detail analysis to each of the four categories with supportive evidence. The four categories are briefly described below:-
1) Marketing Objective
Marketing Objective refers to the direction a business. It describe the macro environment of the business and market situation. It is a medium and long term purpose of a business.
2) Marketing Strategy
The section look for a confined Marketing Strategy. It is developed with a strategic planning process. Business environment analysis is used as an input into the planning process.
3) Business Analysis
This is an important business analysis considered the changes in the business environment, competitions etc. It look for a factual data collection and analysis that are aligned to the Marketing Objective. Among the common Analytical tools are PEST Analysis, 5-forces of competition and SWOT Analysis.
4) Key Performance Indicators
An important category in the Marketing Plan Template. It is the important performance measure of the business. It is termed as the KEY Performance Indicator. It is a report card to the final outcome of all key activities in the marketing plan. The difficult part of this category is the ability to include relevant key performance indicators that has direct influence the business objectives.
Finally, a Marketing Plan Template form an important document and the focus areas in a Marketing Plan. It is a supplementary document of a business plan. It shall be subjected to review for its effectiveness and kept current to the changing business needs.
